Danish Medicine Agency
Drug development explained in motion pictures and graphics
With the mix of both motion pictures and graphics we explained the complex process of drug development in a clear and expressive story.
Project type
Background
The Danish Medicines Agency is responsible for controlling and approving medicinal products in Denmark. Going from the lab to your medicine cabinet often takes more than 10 years of comprehensive testing, research, reports and inspections. That is, if it makes it. A great part of this is to gain trust to the citizens and communicate why and how this takes place.Concept
The best of two worlds
The concept is quite simple – yet quite powerful. Footage of a spokesperson and motion graphics have their individual advantages. So we decided to make use of both. The person makes it reliable and personal, whereas the graphics have the benefit of explaining information in new ways.
Process
Same, same, but different
In many ways the process is similar to an animation. However the recording part obviously makes it different. It’s important to prepare a well-thought-out script and storyboard before moving into the footage studio to make sure everything is coherent and nicely linked.
Graphics/animation
No design guidelines? No problem
The Danish Medicines Agency has well-defined design guidelines; however they did not take into consideration how graphics and motion pictures work together. For this reason we established a consistent icon and illustration style both in sync with the guidelines and the concept.
Narrative
This time it’s personal!
In order to add a devoted, trustworthy and personal voice to the story, we introduced the director of the Medicine Agency. The director was the perfect match bringing his professional knowledge, authority and communication skills to the screen/table.
